about
JATIN VIDYARTHI aka ”Masta’ Justy” from Bangalore is a sound artist, electronic music producer, and DJ. He presently lives in Bangalore and composes music for films, documentaries, and dance and sound installations. Jatin studied audio engineering at the SAE Institute in Sydney.
Am I Here is taken from the album Daaku Potato. The main focus of the song is on ambience, mood and atmosphere. The music is a break-down of many different electronic music genres such as ambient, glitch, noise and subtle break beat music. The Indian vibe is accomplished by sampling Indian films, cassettes, and CDs. The songs also contain field recordings of everyday urban sounds, such as traffic or construction, or sounds in the wild such as birds, insects or water. The music is evocative, beautiful and esoteric.
